About the Play:  Hutto explores the life and relationships of families held in the first federal detention center for illegal immigrants.  The work tells the story of two teens and their families caught in the crossfire of US immigration policy and the Department of Homeland Security.  "R. Harrington captures the open endedness and dread, as well as the gallows humor, of the limbo that befalls illegal immigrant incarcerated in federal facilities.  An otherwise perfectly middle class American family on their way to Disney World, the Amanpours have their lives taken away in the ultimate family test: will they survive as a unit, or will Hutto tear them apart and leave them without a county?  Harrington has written a play that investigates--- and eviscerates---our American reality."  Oliver Mayer, 2008 Oregon Fellowship for Drama Judge.

About the Playwright:  Rose-Mary Harringtons plays have been recognized in numerous national competitions; Writer's Digest Honorable Mention for "Hutto", Winner of the Arts Club of Washington Playwriting Award for "I Do Wander Everywhere", and Manhattan Theatre Source EstroGenius Finalist for "The Wedding Dress", all in 2009.  Many of her plays have been produced across the country.  She has a Master of Arts in Playwriting from the Univ Arizona with a BA from the New College of Speech & Drama, London University.  Member of the Dramatists Guild of America.
